Tis the season... for great films

I just caught the last 20 minutes of the inimitable Raging Bull on BBC 2, the film that Roger Ebert called the best of the 1980s. It'sa hard film to follow, but it seems someone at the BBC scheduling office is trying extra hard, as next up was another jewel of the 80s Do the Right Thing. We are being treated to a pretty wonderful 80s double bill.

Low and behold, on ITV 2 at the same time is perhaps my second favourite film of the decade (after Amadeus - which has long been sat in second place of my all time list) my once upon a time all time favourite, DePalma's and Pacino's Scarface.

Long may the glad tidings of these classics keep blessing our TVs over the holiday season
